Q&A

Why doesn’t this tour include all costs of transportation, meals and lodging?

It is our goal to provide the least expensive way for you to visit Israel for the Feasts while not leaving you stuck not knowing where to go or what to do. Prices go up in Jerusalem during the Feasts, but deals can be found if you know where to look!

Lodging: AirBnb, Abraham Hostel (if you book far enough in advance), Jerusalem Hostel, and Citadel Hostel. Look at the maps below to see the neighborhoods closest and most convenient to Jerusalem Old City, the Passover Seder and the tour sites. It is best to stay within 15 minutes walking distance of either Machane Yehudah Market (the Shuk) or Jerusalem Old City, and stay close to Jaffa Street (within 15 minute walk). The tour and all the meetings will be easy to arrive at by using the Lite Rail.

Further instructions will be provided upon payment in full.

MAP TO HELP YOU FIND CONVENIENT LODGING

Transportation: There are many creative ways to get to Israel inexpensively. Group transportation is always higher than individual transportation. Use red-eye flights, 1 or 2 stop-overs and fly through countries that are not heavily traveled.

Some people fly through Poland, Ukraine or Turkey, for example, with an 8-hour layover to fly round trip for $500. This is not unusual for those who are willing to make concessions in their schedules, have long lay-overs and fly through odd countries.

Another trick you can try is to use a proxy server. Airlines and other travel services advertise lower prices in countries outside the United States.

Here is a deal on 12/10/2018 for under $650.00 with no special routing through Poland, Ukraine, Turkey or elsewhere and only a few minutes spent hunting deals.

Another way to get deals on flights is by using a proxy server. The governments of the world control the content you see according to IP addresses. If yours is in the U.S., you will only see deals designed for Americans. If you live in Timbuktu, however, you will see deals designed for citizens of Timbuktu. The reason? Companies are pricing their deals according to income. Americans make more money than people from Timbuktu, so companies charge more. Using a proxy server changes your IP address. You can make it appear that you are from another country, one with lower income expectations, and this makes it possible for you to find better deals.

Meals: Meals at five-star hotels are always more expensive whether you travel individually or in a group. Staying at a lesser known hotel or in an AirBnb apartment allows you to cook some of your own meals saving you a bunch of money. Not eating at pricey places also will save you money.

What Is Torah School For The Nations?

This is a “Torah Yeshiva” created by Dr. Rivkah Lambert Adler for non-Jews who would like to experience a day of learning the Torah from Rabbis like Yeshiva students do. Price includes lunch. More details on the curriculum are forthcoming. This event is scheduled for Sunday, April 1, 2018.

The Torah School is not quite ready yet, so we may have to do another site which will be the Israel Museum. This museum is huge and will take most of the day, as well.
