Debka.com is reporting that President Trump began his war on ISIS with a deal struck between the US and Russia over security zones in Syria. As part of this arrangement, all forces from the Iranian military, the pro-Iranian Shiite militias and Hizballah will be required to leave Syria. The Turkish area will stretch about 650 kilometers along the entire Syria-Turkey border and extend between 35 and 50 kilometers into Syrian territory.
Neither Turkey or Russia reported that such a deal was completed. Both Ankara and Moscow said such plans would require careful consideration while a senior European Union official said the bloc would consider such plans “when they come.”
The move could effectively stop the religious war between the Sunni and Shi’ite factions leaving only the two nations, the US and Russia, to defeat ISIS as long as Turkey can be encouraged to stand down.
