Rand Paul Suffered 5 Broken Ribs in Assault at Kentucky Home

After Rand Paul was assaulted by a neighbor on Friday, a spokesman for the Kentucky senator said he was “fine.” On Sunday afternoon a senior adviser, Doug Stafford, revealed that the senator actually suffered five broken ribs, and it’s unclear when he’ll be able to return to work.

Injury is caused by high velocity severe force

Saudi-led Coalition Closes Yemen’s Ports After Missile Targets Riyadh

The Saudi-led coalition battling Shiite rebels in Yemen closed off the land, sea and air ports to the Arab world’s poorest country early Monday after a missile targeted Riyadh, hours after an Islamic State-claimed militant attack in Aden killed at least 17 people.

In a statement, the coalition accused Iran of supplying Yemen’s Houthi rebels and their allies with the missile launched Saturday toward the Saudi capital’s international airport.

A day after the GOP unveiled its plan promising middle-class relief, the House’s top tax-writer, Rep. Kevin Brady, R-Texas, released a revised version of the bill that would impose a new, lower-inflation “chained CPI” adjustment for tax brackets immediately instead of in 2023. That means more income would be taxed at higher rates over time — and less generous tax cuts for individuals and families.
