NOTE: I will use OT instead of Tanach because my audience will be mostly Christian.

I do not want man’s midrash born of his own reasoning and religious filters. I want it through YHVH’s eyes.

Requires me to suspend teachings I have received and books I read.

RULES: 1) YHVH said He brings about the end from the problems created in the beginning (Isaiah 46:8-10) meaning from the scriptures in the beginning will come the correction for the problems created in the beginning in the Great Tribulation. His correction begins in His own House.

YHVH does not take world history into account the way humans do. Thus, a historical perspective is irrelevant unless backed up by the Bible. The popular way for worldly professionals in history, archaeology, anthropology and even theologians – those that teach religion such as Christianity and Judaism – is to reverse this order. They look to the Bible’s accounts, then go to their sciences to verify the Bible. That is wrong-headed and blinds people to the truth of YHVH.

2) All end times frameworks are found in scripture, particularly in the Old Testament. The New Testament is righteous commentary on the Torah and the history of Yeshua while on earth. No new elements are added after the arrival of Yeshua. All end times characters, even those in the Book of Revelation, are found in the OT.

3) This is because YHVH has revealed everything to His Biblical prophets. (Not saying the gift of prophecy is done away. Only that everything YHVH wants us to know in this end times generation was prophesied by the OT prophets. These prophecies include Messiah Yeshua, His people and His city.

The Bible was written to all of YHVH’s people but has special importance for the last generation. We can only understand what is coming by looking to the Biblical past.

4) YHVH’s Word is simple so that the worldly wise won’t understand it but even the least educated among His people will.

Deu 30:11  “For this commandment that I command you today is not too hard for you, neither is it far off.
Deu 30:12  It is not in heaven, that you should say, ‘Who will ascend to heaven for us and bring it to us, that we may hear it and do it?’
Deu 30:13  Neither is it beyond the sea, that you should say, ‘Who will go over the sea for us and bring it to us, that we may hear it and do it?’
Deu 30:14  But the word is very near you. It is in your mouth and in your heart, so that you can do it.
Deu 30:15  “See, I have set before you today life and good, death and evil.
Deu 30:16  If you obey the commandments of the LORD your God that I command you today, by loving the LORD your God, by walking in his ways, and by keeping his commandments and his statutes and his rules, then you shall live and multiply, and the LORD your God will bless you in the land that you are entering to take possession of it.
Deu 30:17  But if your heart turns away, and you will not hear, but are drawn away to worship other gods and serve them,

Here is where Mystery Babylon comes in… The leaders of Jerusalem are not walking in YHVH’s ways and YHVH will destroy them for defiling His city.

Deu 30:18  I declare to you today, that you shall surely perish. You shall not live long in the land that you are going over the Jordan to enter and possess.
Deu 30:19  I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and curse. Therefore choose life, that you and your offspring may live,
Deu 30:20  loving the LORD your God, obeying his voice and holding fast to him, for he is your life and length of days, that you may dwell in the land that the LORD swore to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.”

Choose life. Choose YHVH’s Kingdom.

This study concerns who YHVH says is Mystery Babylon.

Only two definitions need to be understood in order to know which city is Mystery Babylon – the definition of ‘great city’ and the definition of a harlot, whore.

GREAT CITY

Rev 11:8 – 2 witnesses

Rev 11:7 And when they have finished their testimony, the beast that rises from the bottomless pit will make war on them and conquer them and kill them,
Rev 11:8 and their dead bodies will lie in the street of the great city that symbolically is called Sodom and Egypt, where their Lord was crucified.

This scene happens in the city where John was told to measure the Temple, the one located in YHVH’s holy city according to Rev 11:2.

First question: Has YHVH ever said in His Word that Rome is a holy city? Because that’s what we must look for – a holy city of YHVH that is also called a ‘great city’.

DEFINITION OF “GREAT CITY” IN OT

“great city” 17 matches

Resen, Gibeon, Nineveh, Jerusalem (Jer 22)

Resen called ‘great city’ 1X

Gibeon called ‘great city’ 1X

Nineveh called ‘great city’ 4X

Jerusalem called ‘great city’ 11X

Jeremiah 22, Revelation

The first ‘great city’ – Resen – Resen was, according to Genesis 10:8–12, a city founded by Nimrod, son of Cush in the land of Assyria as interpreted in most modern translations. Resen is stated, according to Genesis 10:12, to have been located between Nineveh and Calah and became a great city. Its exact location is today unclear. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Resen (Bible)

Gen 10:11 Out of that land went forth Asshur, and builded Nineveh, and the city Rehoboth, and Calah,

Gen 10:12 And Resen between Nineveh and Calah: the same is a great city.

Nimrod built the first Babylon out of which came the Babylonian and Assyrian empires. Asshur went forth from Babylon to build cities whether for Nimrod as part of the Babylonian empire we do not know. The important factor is that Babylon and Assyria would play important roles for YHVH’s people throughout the ages.

From the Antiquities of the Jews: “Ashur lived at the city of Nineveh; and named his subjects Assyrians, who became the most fortunate nation, beyond others” (Antiquities, i, vi, 4).

WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT?

Because YHVH is setting up our understanding of what will happen to His people in their exiles.

The capital of Assyria was Nineveh. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nineveh

Who went into captivity there? The House of Israel.

HOI still in Assyrian exile.

Yeshua will break this exile when He comes.

BABYLON: Babylon appears 3 times in scripture – at the beginning with Nimrod, in the middle with Nebuchadnezzar and in the end (some people say as Rome, others Mecca and others New York, Washington).

Both prior times have something to do with YHVH’s people. Abraham was called out of Babylon.

As in the beginning, so in the end.

Revelation 18:4 exhorts us to do what Abraham did and come out of her.

Yeshua will break this exile when He comes.

GREAT CITY, then, must be one of the cities YHVH listed in OT.

Where is Resen today? No one knows.

Where is Nineveh today? Archaeologists think they know: Today, Nineveh’s location is marked by two large mounds, Kouyunjik and Nabī Yūnus “Prophet Jonah”, and the remains of the city walls (about 12 kilometres (7 mi) in circumference). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nineveh#Archaeology

What about Gibeon? Do we still have a city called Gibeon today? No.

What about the only other city called ‘great city’ in both the old and new testaments – Jerusalem? Do we know where Jerusalem is today? Yes.

Did YHVH ever refer to Rome as a great city? No. Rome was nothing more than a political backdrop for the time of Yeshua’s life to fulfill the prophecies.

Daniel’s 4th Beast was Edomite Rome. The Jews were exiled in their own land by Edomite Rome because they had taken on Babylonian ways. It was during the Babylonian exile that Judaism began to take hold. Rome was punishment for their Babylonian-ism. After they rejected Yeshua, YHVH threw them into exile into all the nations of the earth with the House of Israel as punishment.

TESTIMONY OF JERUSALEM’S CONDITION

OT calls Jerusalem Sodom and Egypt.

SODOM – City of Injustice

John did not make up this insult against Jerusalem. Prior to John, Isaiah and Jeremiah had much to say about Jerusalem’s despicable condition.

Isa 1:10 Hear the word of the LORD, ye rulers of Sodom; give ear unto the law of our God, ye people of Gomorrah.

Isaiah is talking to the ruler of Judah. Isa 1:1 The vision of Isaiah the son of Amoz, which he saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem in the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah.

Jer 23:14 I have seen also in the prophets of Jerusalem a horrible thing: they commit adultery, and walk in lies: they strengthen also the hands of evildoers, that none doth return from his wickedness: they are all of them unto me as Sodom, and the inhabitants thereof as Gomorrah.

Jeremiah also said:

Eze 16:1 Again the word of the LORD came to me:

Eze 16:2 “Son of man, make known to Jerusalem her abominations,

Eze 16:3 and say, Thus says the Lord GOD to Jerusalem: Your origin and your birth are of the land of the Canaanites; your father was an Amorite and your mother a Hittite.

EGYPT – House of Bondage

Rev 11:8 and their dead bodies will lie in the street of the great city that symbolically is called Sodom and Egypt, where their Lord was crucified.

John called Jerusalem Egypt because of its history of peace treaties with Egypt and the fact of inter-cultural exchange. Were not the Israelites all supposed to have left Egypt? Not all did, but those who did should never have returned for political purposes as the kings of Judah did from the time of Solomon.

It was evil for the kings of Judah to make and uphold peace with Egypt since YHVH had destroyed it. Their peace with Egypt was a recognition that YHVH’s enemy was not destroyed. This profaned YHVH’s name and turned YHVH into a liar.

Jer 24:8 And as the evil figs, which cannot be eaten, they are so evil; surely thus saith the LORD, So will I give Zedekiah the king of Judah, and his princes, and the residue of Jerusalem, that remain in this land, and them that dwell in the land of Egypt:

Some Jews had fled Judea during the Babylonian siege. Solomon made a peace treaty with Egypt (1Ki 3:1). Other kings of Judah upheld the Solomon peace treaty with Egypt and struggled with it being torn between Egypt and Babylon and Egypt and Assyria (Hezekiah (2 Kings 18), Jehoahaz (2 Chronicles 36), Jehoiakim (2 Kings 23:34-35)).

Was there a peace treaty in place during Yeshua’s time on earth? Yes and no.

No, even though a large Jewish population still lived in Egypt as they do to this day. The peace treaty with Egypt was between Rome and Egypt. As a conquered nation, then, yes Jerusalem was in treaty with Egypt through Rome. It had been a few hundred years since Israel had been in treaty with Egypt, yet John says Jerusalem would be both Sodom and Egypt – injustice and slavery.

However, today, Israel has a peace treaty with Egypt just as was done in ancient times by the kings of Judah.

Where did the kings of Judah rule from? Jerusalem or Rome? Jerusalem.

There is no Sodom for Israel to make a peace treaty with today, but there is an Egypt. Do you not find it interesting that John foresaw Israel’s continued connection to Egypt all the way to the end of days?

Which city was John talking about that would be like Sodom and Egypt? Rome or Jerusalem? Mecca or Jerusalem? New York or Jerusalem? Washington or Jerusalem?

Rome existed at that time, but not Mecca or New York or Washington. Yet Rome is not mentioned by YHVH as anything other than a conquering and ruling nation in Judea. Almost nothing is made of this situation by Yeshua either.

What was the main concern of the Apostles? Were they concerned about the Jews coming to belief in Yeshua or that the Romans should come to belief in Yeshua? Of course, the Jews. The Book of Romans was not written to Rome, but to a particular synagogue of integrated House of Judah Jews and House of Israel Greeks. The concern throughout the Bible is always for YHVH’s own people, not the nations. His own people come first, THEN the nations. His people are to bring the nations into His Kingdom, but because of their continual harlotry they fail. So YHVH has to clean up His people first so they can, in turn, influence the nations to come into the Kingdom.

Jerusalem truly is Sodom and Egypt today.

Let us now return to John’s Revelation which says the great city is Sodom and Egypt. Remember, this is the city where Yeshua was crucified (Rev 11:8).

Rev 14:8  And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.

The repetition of ‘is fallen’ in regard to Babylon tells us that Babylon will fall twice.

Babylon is ‘that great city’ that makes all the end times nations commit fornication.

G4202
πορνεία
porneia
por-ni’-ah
From G4203; harlotry (including adultery and incest); figuratively idolatry: – fornication.

G4203
πορνεύω
porneuō
porn-yoo’-o
From G4204; to act the harlot, that is, (literally) indulge unlawful lust (of either sex), or (figuratively) practise idolatry: – commit (fornication).

Did YHVH ever say Nimrod’s Babylon, or Nebuchadnezzar’s Babylon, or Rome needed to be a faithful wife? No. Did He ever call any other nation to marry Him and be a faithful wife? No.

Deu 7:6  “For you are a people holy to the LORD your God. The LORD your God has chosen you to be a people for his treasured possession, out of all the peoples who are on the face of the earth.
Deu 7:7  It was not because you were more in number than any other people that the LORD set his love on you and chose you, for you were the fewest of all peoples,
Deu 7:8  but it is because the LORD loves you and is keeping the oath that he swore to your fathers, that the LORD has brought you out with a mighty hand and redeemed you from the house of slavery, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.

Jer 3:14  Turn, O backsliding children, saith the LORD; for I am married unto you: and I will take you one of a city, and two of a family, and I will bring you to Zion:

So, YHVH’s concern is not for other nations, but His own to whom He is married! What is the city that is His Bride? Jerusalem.

Jer 7:34 Then will I cause to cease from the cities of Judah, and from the streets of Jerusalem, the voice of mirth, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride: for the land shall be desolate.

Rev 21:2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

Again – which tribe and which House has controlled Jerusalem from the beginning? Judah.

There is a city that will be shamed. Here is what John had to say about that city, the city full of harlot’s, lovers:

Rev 18:3  For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies.

What is fornication? It is ritual temple sex according to the limited Greek word ‘porneo’. It’s Hebrew equivalent is ‘zanah’ – harlot, whore – which we will study a little later.

Isa_51:17  Awake, awake, stand up, O Jerusalem, which hast drunk at the hand of the LORD the cup of his fury; thou hast drunken the dregs of the cup of trembling, and wrung them out.

This is the same city that John was speaking of.

Rev 18:4  And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.

Rev 18:5  For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities.

‘Her’ refers to the city that YHVH is about to destroy.

Question: Did YHVH ever refer to Rome as an entity – a ‘her’ – as personal to Himself? No. Does YHVH refer to Jerusalem in a personal sense in scripture? Yes.

Mat 23:37  O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!

HINT: Which city killed prophets? Jerusalem. Which city will the two witnesses prophesy from? Jerusalem.

Rev 18:2  And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.

It is a system of uncleanness. Hateful bird = hateful means detestable.

Question: Which city is YHVH concerned over clean and unclean? Rome or Jerusalem?

Rev 18:7  As she glorified herself and lived in luxury, so give her a like measure of torment and mourning, since in her heart she says, ‘I sit as a queen, I am no widow, and mourning I shall never see.’

Eze 16:35 “Therefore, O harlot, hear the word of the LORD:
Eze 16:36 Thus says the Lord GOD, Because your lust was poured out and your nakedness uncovered in your whorings with your lovers, and with all your abominable idols, and because of the blood of your children that you gave to them,
Eze 16:37 therefore, behold, I will gather all your lovers with whom you took pleasure, all those you loved and all those you hated. I will gather them against you from every side and will uncover your nakedness to them, that they may see all your nakedness.

THE GREAT CITY AT THE END OF THE MILLENNIUM

Go to the end of the book for a fine definition of what YHVH’s calls His city, Jerusalem:

Rev 21:10 And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God,

Right here, YHVH calls Jerusalem ‘that great city’. That phrase is specific to Jerusalem. Would YHVH have called Jerusalem ‘that great city’ at the end of the Book if she wasn’t defined that way by Him at the beginning of the Book? No. Why? Because YHVH changes not. Everything that was in the beginning will be the same at the end.

The Harm of Jerusalem

Jer 14:16  And the people to whom they prophesy shall be cast out in the streets of Jerusalem because of the famine and the sword; and they shall have none to bury them, them, their wives, nor their sons, nor their daughters: for I will pour their wickedness upon them.

That sounds like what John said, right?

QUESTION: Did YHVH ever call Rome a ‘great city’? No. We have already seen from scripture all the cities that YHVH referred to as ‘great city’. Each one was a city that harmed YHVH’s people in some way.

Has Jerusalem harmed YHVH’s people? Yes.

Isa 28:14  Wherefore hear the word of the LORD, ye scornful men, that rule this people which is in Jerusalem.

Scornful of who? YHVH. And His people.

Jer 50:6  My people hath been lost sheep: their shepherds have caused them to go astray, they have turned them away on the mountains: they have gone from mountain to hill, they have forgotten their resting place.

Eze 34:8  As I live, saith the Lord GOD, surely because my flock became a prey, and my flock became meat to every beast of the field, because there was no shepherd, neither did my shepherds search for my flock, but the shepherds fed themselves, and fed not my flock;

YHVH won’t bring His New Jerusalem until Jerusalem is cleaned up. She is His ‘great city’ even when she is defiled. He never changed His mind about who and what Jerusalem is or His definition of ‘great city’.

WHAT IS A HARLOT?

Points:

*Mystery Babylon is a harlot city. Jerusalem is a harlot city. Could Mystery Babylon and Jerusalem be connected – even BE the same city where, by the end of days, this city’s whoredoms become so bad that she is now beyond Sodom and has become the worst possible thing: Mystery Babylon? The Babylon where she was held captive and where she absorbed Babylon?

*One of Revelation’s main characters is MB

She, MB, is juxtaposed to Yeshua’s churches, His assemblies that, obviously, believe in Him as Messiah.

**Biggest clue: She, Mystery Babylon, is called ‘great city’

The Bible calls other cities ‘great’.

*Our father, Abraham, had come out of Babylon. The Jews went back into Babylon.

Before Babylon, though, the House of Judah, the Jews, were harlots.

CLUE: The Definition of ‘Harlot’

First Use:

Gen 34:31  And they said, Should he deal with our sister as with an harlot?

H2181
זנה
zânâh
zaw-naw’
A primitive root (highly fed and therefore wanton); to commit adultery (usually of the female, and less often of simple fornication, rarely of involuntary ravishment); figuratively to commit idolatry (the Jewish people being regarded as the spouse of Jehovah): – (cause to) commit fornication, X continually, X great, (be an, play the) harlot, (cause to be, play the) whore, (commit, fall to) whoredom, (cause to) go a-whoring, whorish.

Difference Between Zanah and Na’aph.

The ‘zanah’, ‘zonah’, ‘zenuth’ is not just an adulterer/ess (a na’aph H5003) but a specific kind of adultery – unfaithfulness to YHVH and the Covenant the people made with Him. The na’aph adultery is specific to unfaithfulness in human marital relationships.

H5003
נאף
nâ’aph
naw-af’
A primitive root; to commit adultery; figuratively to apostatize: – adulterer (-ess), commit (-ing) adultery, woman that breaketh wedlock.

Such is the unfaithfulness of the WHOLE House of Israel that YHVH now calls all Israel both an adulteress and a ‘zanah’, a breaker of covenant faithfulness.

Zanah is specific to unfaithfulness in relationship to one’s deity. Ancient cultures understood themselves to be in covenant with their deity/ies and their king. A zanah is one who does not care for or uphold the covenant with the cultural deity or the king.

YHVH said that one who commits zanah is also a wanton idolator. Why? Because idolatry is to YHVH, our husband, as adultery is to an earthly husband.

Dinah, who was raped, could have been shamed as one who was unfaithful to YHVH in Jacob’s family. This was a serious matter that could expose Dinah to further sexual abuse. The men of Shechem had their god and her rape, if it came without retribution, would have exposed her to Shechem’s cultural expectations a one who plays fast and loose with the gods. Even the pagans have a sense of faithfulness when it comes to their deities.

Rahab was a ‘zanah’ because she was willing to be unfaithful to the deity/ies and/or the king of Jericho. This is why she so easily discarded Jericho. She had no faithfulness to her people or their deity.

So, ‘zanah’ means to be ‘faithless’ in all the sense of that word: Faithless to your people; faithless to YHVH’s Covenant with you and your people; faithless in your faith, your walk with Him; idolatrous in that you seek out the ways of other deities that YHVH commanded you should not do. Anytime we seek another path that YHVH has not given to us, we are ‘zanah’, faithless, a harlot, a whore even if we never have committed adultery, ‘na’aph’.

Israel is a ‘zanah’, not a na’aph, because we have been unfaithful to our God. We have not upheld our end of the Covenant.

Did YHVH call nations or cities who were not married to Him harlots? Yes and no.

Isa 23:15  And it shall come to pass in that day, that Tyre shall be forgotten seventy years, according to the days of one king: after the end of seventy years shall Tyre sing as an harlot.

Isa 23:16  Take an harp, go about the city, thou harlot that hast been forgotten; make sweet melody, sing many songs, that thou mayest be remembered.

https://www.gotquestions.org/Tyre-and-Sidon.html Tyre and Sidon are port cities located in modern Lebanon on the Mediterranean coast. Sidon is believed to have existed prior to 2000 BC, with Tyre being just a little younger. The Old Testament mentions Israel’s dealings with these cities, including the Israelites’ failure to conquer Sidon in the conquest of the Promised Land (Judges 1:31), their worship of Sidonian gods on several occasions (Judges 10:6–16; 1 Kings 11), and their obtaining materials from Sidon and Tyre for the building of the temple (1 Chronicles 22:4). King Hiram of Tyre provided many of the temple furnishings for Solomon (1 Kings 7:13–51). Tyrians and Sidonians are also mentioned in helping rebuild the temple in Ezra’s time (Ezra 3:7). Queen Jezebel was a Sidonian (1 Kings 16:31). The Sidonian city of Zarephath was where a widow took care of Elijah and the Lord provided oil and flour for her through the famine; later, the widow’s son became ill, and Elijah raised him from the dead (1 Kings 17:8–24).

The Old Testament also has several prophecies against Tyre and Sidon that predicted a complete overthrow (Isaiah 23; Jeremiah 25; 27; 47; Ezekiel 26–28; Joel 3; Amos 1:9–10; Zechariah 9:1–4). Nebuchadnezzar besieged Tyre from 585–572 BC. Alexander the Great conquered Tyre in 322 BC, completely destroying the city. The Persian king Artaxerxes conquered Sidon. In short, God’s prophesied judgment came to pass. Later, both cities became prosperous provinces of Rome.

Tyre and Sidon were Gentile cities north of Israel and was where many of the House of Israel lived after the exile. The close relationship between Israel and the city of Tyre – there was a legal relationship there – gave YHVH the right to call Tyre a zanah, a whore. And lest we forget, Tyre’s close relationship with Jerusalem would have been part of the reason for Jerusalem’s idolatry. King Solomon’s relationship with King Hiram was more than business, it was personal. People overlook and even adopt the ways of their friends. So, Tyre would have been involved in influencing Jerusalem away from YHVH toward the worship of other deities thus making Jerusalem into a zanah.

Yeshua’s travel to Tyre and Sidon is testimony to where some of the House of Israel was at that time. He demonstrated that His intention was to seek the lost sheep of the House of Israel (Mat_10:6, Mat_15:24).

Mar 7:24  And from thence he arose, and went into the borders of Tyre and Sidon, and entered into an house, and would have no man know it: but he could not be hid. Mar 7:25  For a certain woman, whose young daughter had an unclean spirit, heard of him, and came and fell at his feet:

Mar 7:26  The woman was a Greek, a Syrophenician by nation; and she besought him that he would cast forth the devil out of her daughter.
Mar 7:27  But Jesus said unto her, Let the children first be filled: for it is not meet to take the children’s bread, and to cast it unto the dogs.
Mar 7:28  And she answered and said unto him, Yes, Lord: yet the dogs under the table eat of the children’s crumbs.
Mar 7:29  And he said unto her, For this saying go thy way; the devil is gone out of thy daughter.
Mar 7:30  And when she was come to her house, she found the devil gone out, and her daughter laid upon the bed.

Only Israel is married to YHVH. Tyre was merely Israel’s best friend. Both of their whoredoms are became Jerusalem’s idolatries, her ‘zanah’(s), if I may.

Jerusalem, the great city, is associated with whoredom, ‘zanah’, in scripture – 2Ch 21:13 and Jer 13:27.

Jer 13:27 I have seen your abominations, your adulteries and neighings, your lewd whorings, on the hills in the field. Woe to you, O Jerusalem! How long will it be before you are made clean?”

H2184
זנוּת
zenûth
zen-ooth’
From H2181; adultery, that is, (figuratively) infidelity, idolatry: – whoredom.

A whore is an unfaithful wife, according to YHVH.

Judah specifically is called a harlot, ‘zanah’, faithless to the God of Israel and her King, in scripture – Jer 3:8.

Jer 3:8  And I saw, when for all the causes whereby backsliding Israel committed adultery (na’aph H5003) I had put her away, and given her a bill of divorce; yet her treacherous sister Judah feared not, but went and played the harlot (Zanah H2081) also.

In fact, Jeremiah said Judah is a worse harlot than Israel, the House of Israel. The House of Israel is deemed to have acted better than Judah when YHVH compared their activities – adultery, na’aph vs harlotry, zanah. Both are evil, but this comparison is made by YHVH to show how much worse Judah is than her sister, Israel.

WHO is a harlot in YHVH’s eyes? Both His people and His city, Jerusalem. He began calling the people a whore (singular) while the Israelites were in the wilderness coming out Egypt and He will call her a ‘great whore’ in the end of days.

Num 14:33  And your children shall wander in the wilderness forty years, and bear your whoredoms (zanun H2183), until your carcasses be wasted in the wilderness.

THE CITY THAT IS A WHORE

Isa_1:21  How is the faithful city become an harlot (zanah H2181)! it was full of judgment; righteousness lodged in it; but now murderers.

Which city was Isaiah concerned about? Rome or Jerusalem? Jerusalem, of course.

From the OT, it is clear, then that when YHVH refers to a city as a whore, the only city He means Jerusalem! MB is Jerusalem. Jerusalem is MB.

‘Mystery Babylon’ whore refers to a “great city”, according to Revelation 17:18:

Revelation 17:18 And the woman that you saw is the great city that has dominion over the kings of the earth.”

SHE, the whore, is the same woman as YHVH’s wife, Jerusalem.

AND Mystery Babylon is a whore.

Rev 17:1 And there came one of the seven angels which had the seven vials, and talked with me, saying to me, Come here; I will show you the judgment of the great whore that sits on many waters:

Rev 17:5 And on her forehead was written a name of mystery: “Babylon the great, mother of whores and of the earth’s abominations.”

‘Mystery Babylon’ – religious Babylon situated in the hands of end times Judaism – is also THAT ‘great city’.

Rev 17:18 And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth.

It is undeniable now that Jerusalem is “Babylon the great”, a city of harlots against YHVH, and she is called the ‘great city’.

By the way, neither Nimrod’s nor Nebuchadnezzar’s Babylon was ever called ‘Babylon the great’ elsewhere in scripture outside of the Book of Revelation. That is a title reserved for what Jerusalem will have become because of the whoredom of Judaism and those false prophets and teachers who are leading the people of the House of Judah astray, and who will try to ensnare the nations in their own whoredoms through the Noahide laws and other means.

ROME

Can Rome, Mecca, New York, Washington or any other city or people be the great city of Revelation? Can YHVH be speaking of Tyre? No. The House of Judah does not rule over Tyre, never has. The great city of Revelation is only Jerusalem.

Now, connect Babylonian-Judaism, with its mystery religion the Kabbalah which came with them out of Babylon, and you will see why Jerusalem is called ‘Mystery Babylon’.

Being captive in Babylon was not merely a physical captivity of the Jews. It was YHVH turning them over to a reprobate mind to continue in and worsen their spiritual condition so that they were blinded to the truth of YHVH.

2Ti 3:8 Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.

Reprobate minds claim to know YHVH, but in their works they deny Him.

Tit 1:16 They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.

Rome is the religious base that captured the House of Israel. But actually, the House of Israel is still in Assyrian captivity because that captivity was never declared over. Yeshua must come to declare it over. The AC is called “the Assyrian” as well as other names because of the House of Israel’s continued Assyrian captivity.

Rome only made a military conquest of Jerusalem, but it was Babylon that got the Jewish soul! And it is the soul, the spirit, in us that YHVH wants for this is the seat of our faithfulness.

EXAMINATION OF OBJECTIONS

Revelation 17:1 And one of the seven messengers who had the seven bowls came and spoke with me, saying to me, “Come, I shall show you the judgment of the great whore sitting on many waters…

How does Jerusalem sit on many waters?

Sea = people of the nations.

Where are the Jews scattered? In every nation. Thus Jerusalem has tendrils through the Jews into every nation. And Jerusalem is trying to govern the Jews in all nations which, if accomplished, will mean that Jerusalem rules all the nations.

You know about the Noahide laws. One of the purposes of those is to make a distinction between Jews and everyone else.

Rev 18:19  And they threw dust on their heads as they wept and mourned, crying out, “Alas, alas, for the great city where all who had ships at sea grew rich by her wealth! For in a single hour she has been laid waste.

Some say Jerusalem is not a seaport city. This is correct. But there is a caveat. Israel has a seaport. In terms of governments, when we say ‘Washington’ we often mean the government of the United States. When we say ‘Moscow’, we often mean the government of Russia. Thus, when we say ‘Jerusalem’, we mean the government of Israel. It is common to speak of nations and their capital cities in this manner and doing so is not new in our modern era. In the context of Jerusalem as the government of Israel, Jerusalem does have a seaport.

Other objections, but these are the main ones.

BABYLON AND JERUSALEM

Summing up:

The description of Jerusalem as a whore, Sodom, Egypt and the destruction that will be brought on her is the same description John gave about the ‘great city’ called Babylon, and which he also called ‘Mystery’ because Judaism is a mystery religion.

The Kabbalah is not unique to Judaism. Other occult and ancient religions going all the way back to known texts about Egyptian mystery rites employ the same religious ideas. Judaism is pagan to the core! Come out of her, people!

YHVH has always and only been concerned with His city, Jerusalem, and her people. Both of these are called YHVH’s Bride.

YHVH never mentions Rome in connection with Babylon, but Jerusalem is mentioned in connection with Babylon in the old and new testaments.

YHVH never mentions any battles of Rome against Jerusalem, but He has a lot to say about the battles of Babylon against Jerusalem. The battles between Babylon and Jerusalem are more than military conquests – they are spiritual battles which, so far, the House of Judah has lost.

The ‘great city’ refers to 4 cities in scripture, 3 of which are now in ruins. The only remaining city to be called ‘great city’ is Jerusalem.

Judah and Israel were both called ‘whores’ by YHVH. He never called any other people ‘whores’. Only the city of Tyre was referred to once as a harlot.

Judah will not willingly give up her whoredoms and further will bring all nations into the same idolatries. Therefore, YHVH will have no other choice than to separate out the remnant from Jerusalem and destroy the House of Judah and Jerusalem with her. After this, Yeshua will return to rebuild Jerusalem as a pure and holy city and great city fit for Him as a King.

THE JEWS’ AGENDA TO ENSLAVE THE EARTH TO JUDAISM

The religious stuff coming out of Jerusalem is MB stuff.

Kabbalah, Zohar, Gemara, Talmud, etc.

Noahide recent agenda.

Now you know what is happening when you read articles from Breaking Israel News and other media outlets which push the Judaism and Jewish messiah agenda.

Now you know why Jerusalem is MB, not Rome, Mecca, New York, Washington, or even Tyre.
